Can restaurant reviews be trusted?
There are many places online where you can read reviews about popular UK restaurants but can these reviews really be trusted? It’s important to take everything with a pinch of salt. Everybody has different opinions on food, décor, etc. and even the best restaurants will have some bad feedback. It’s also important to use your common sense however when trying to make a valid judgement.
If a restaurant has mostly bad reviews, then it is worth paying attention to this. It’s better to go to a restaurant that has 90% positive feedback to 90% negative feedback. There have been stories of companies paying individuals to leave positive reviews so this is also something that you also need to keep in mind.
The only way that you can know for sure if a restaurant is worth visiting is to try it out for yourself. There will always be bad experiences but most restaurants in the UK are at least decent, they wouldn’t still be open if they weren’t. If you are unlucky enough to encounter a restaurant that isn’t the best, at least it is one to tick off the list.
